Proverbs 22: 17-29
If I can’t write in my journal I should be able to use the world-wide censored web. Right? So since I am taking the refresher course again for EMT I thought it would be good to get back on point in terms of writing down and writing and reading in general. I read a post a while back from a friend and the gist of it made sense to me. The idea was along the lines of changing mentally. Things we think that are important now…..as we grow in life (hopefully for some) ideas/certain belief systems we hold to be true/or activities/ at some point in time might lose their luster. What I am trying to say is change is good and when you look back you will realize you were better for it. I know I do too…I want to hold on to every moment that was golden. But the reality is….you cant. That moment is fleeting. So here I am making efforts to grab onto the now. The now has been interesting. When you have kids it is definitely not your moment for sure it is theirs! And being a guy or my cop-out answer super non mom its a struggle to have a schedule the way mommy would do it. Right now I am in between jobs and the job I have isn’t super consistent. So on top of it going back to school with extra sauce is another pancake on the plate. Toggling from stay @ home dad or half school man or half work man.The business of life is taxing! So you can say this is not the so-called golden moments-but there is something there that is strange. Really it is a .golden moment because this too is going to stop one day. I will make efforts to embrace the now. What else do I have? I just need some encouragement to get through this season. We all prefer the summer season in Chicago oppose to the winter. 10 below 0 and wind chill isn’t my idea of mountain top good times. But if you are a snow boarder well. Now rotten banana’s into banana bread.
So here it the verses written down today. This is how I try to do my devotions and get wisdom. Read it then write it. Your life depends on it because the word says one mans life is not about the abundance of his posessions!
17: incline your ears and hear the words of the wise. And apply your heart to my knowledge.
18:For it is a pleasant thing if you keep them with you.
19:So that your trust may be in the Lord I have instructed you today.Even You.
20.Have I not written to you excellent things of counsels and knowledge
21.That I may make you know the certainty of the words of truth
to those who send to you.
22.Do not rob the poor because he is poor Nor oppress the afflicted at the gate
23.For the Lord will plead their cause and plunder the soul of those who plunder them.
24. Make no friendship with an angry man and with a furious man do not go
25. Lest you learn his ways and set a snare for your soul.
26.Do not be one who shakes hands in a pledge on of those who is surety for debts
27.If you have nothing which to pay Why should he take away your bed from under you.
28.Do not move an ancient landmark Which your fathers have set
29.Do you see a man who excels in his work? He will stand before kings He will not stand before unknown men,
Wow so lord let us not associate with super angry people. Please keep us from trying to play your roll in terms of shaking hands and telling people we will take care of there problems with finances. Let us excel at what we do so we might please you and benefit others around us.
In Jesus name.
