revival

I haven’t read the whole book yet but one thing that stands out in my mind is something Donald Trump said on his TV show “the apprentice” he pretty much said the people who end up making it in a career or in any certain endeavor is having a thing called passion! Donald through out all his observations said passion would cause someone to persevere. Which brings me to my first observation that excited me a little while reading this book. The author took this quote from another writer but non-the less it is right next to what Mr. Trump noted. It say’s A visionary without a task makes a visionary; A task without a vision makes a drudgery; a vision with a task makes a missionary. Jesus said you must be born again, and if your not he said you cannot see the kingdom of GOD! Guess what in my life as a believer prayer is the source of rekindled vision! And as for you un-inspired folks you must be born again. In reply Jesus declared, “I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.[a]” You have no vision because you cannot see. In the rest of his chapter he talks about the vision GOD gave to Isaiah, he breaks it down into three dimensions: A word of confession/ a word cleansing/ and a word of commission. The one thing that gets me is Isaiah says to GOD here I am send me. That one ruffles my feathers abit because having a family and a career should that supercede the mission GOD has for us or could we be distracted from what GOD wants us to do. It always comes down to intense prayer and seeking if you ask me. Doors will open. So as the author kept getting me to look at Isaiah chapter 6:8-13 another thing I noticed was the kind of people Isaiah was being sent too. Now I don’t know about you but when you have tons of priorities in your life and time and money is hard to come by, well it doesn’t take genius to figure out what a poor investment from a good one looks like, I mean what do I get out of the deal? The people are all these wicked things and on top of that they wont even listen to what I am going to say.  Isaiah does not say this to the LORD what is in it for me? But note Isaiah does say. How long lord, not I wont do it. God in the following chapters lets Isaiah know the pros and cons for the things to come. I love books that constantly point my mind to the scriptures. I recommend reading Isaiah chapter 6 the whole thing. It is worth reading.
